When people think of Technology they generally think of mobile phones, laptops and tablets and maybe sometimes TVs. These next few items however are none of the above (well one is, sort of) but are still loaded with incredible technology that’s going to make your life cooler if not a lot better. Enjoy!
If bicycles are your thing but occasionally you’d like to rest your legs a bit the new eFlow E3 Nitro Bicycle from Currie Technologies is going to blow your mind. They’ve been making electric bikes for over 15 years and this may be their best yet. It will set you back about 4 Grand but, with a 500-watt silent rear cassette hub motor at your disposal you can either let the bike help you a little or do all the hard work completely. The battery is housed in the frame so people won’t even know you’re cheating and it even has a restorative brake like a Prius automobile!
Home appliance company Whirlpool has a really cool concept fireplace that will turn your kitchen into a hibachi / fridge / super cool uber gadget. If you set a mug down on it for example and twist it sideways to the left the heating element heats your mug. Twist it right and it cools your mug! Video cameras in the fume hood can tell what people are doing and set the temps as they move. Talk about the ultimate kitchen gadget!
When it comes to small, maneuverable, energy efficient people moving indoors the Segway is hard to beat but the Robostep from China is trying to be the next big thing. If questions of intellectual property come to mind the manufacturer insists that, while the Segway has 4 gyroscopes, their creation only has 1 and is thus completely different. It does everything a Segway does and just slightly more (it can wiggle a little). Hey, Segway needed some competition.
This last one is something that many of us have been waiting for since, well, it was shown as concept years ago. Lenovo’s IdeaCentre Horizon 27 Table PC is a coffee-table computer that does it all. It’s even better because the price, which was nearly 10 grand only a few short years ago, is now less than $1700.00. With 10-finger touch screen technology Lenovo is hoping that their new table PC will bring families together again, sort of like when they used to gather around the TV. If anything coffee klatches will certainly never be the same.
