While 2012 was definitely an excellent year if you were a techie there are some things shaping up for 2013 that should really put a big smile on your face. There’s a lot to talk about so, without further ado, here are the Top 5 Tech Products that you’re going to drool over in 2013.
Apple has to have an entry of course and their iPhone 5s is already rumored to be in production even though the iPhone 5 only came out a few weeks ago. Like they always do Apple is keeping everything ‘hush hush’ but experts (whoever they are) say that the 5s will see the light of day in June with improved battery life, a Retina+ display and probably a ‘super HD’ camera too. It’s too soon to call if the new iPhone will have the long-awaited NFC Tech but, if you’re a big iPhone fan, all we can say is keep your fingers crossed.
HTC is going to be getting in the act this year as well and their HTC M7 has already been called their best release yet. Rumors say that the phone will have a 5 inch HD screen, a 13 megapixel camera (wow) and a unibody aluminum shell similar to the iPhone. Indeed if the rumors are true HTC could have a better handset the Apple’s iPhone and become the ‘gotta have it!’ handset of the year.
Nintendo’s Wii U will, one again, revolutionize the way people play their games in 2013 with their new gamepad. It brings to gamers a new ‘asymmetric gaming style’ (their words) that supposedly is like nothing ever seen before. Those looking to personalize their console will have the help of an onboard camera to do it and the Wii U will be the 1st console ever to support 5 players, something that should delight multi-player fans everywhere.
Although there has never been an official word from Apple their Apple iTV is widely considered to exist and be in the final stages of development before release. Heck, Apple CEO Tim Cooke even hinted at it and experts (there they are again) predict that the iTV will have a 42 to 55 inch screen and a price of about $1700.00. If it’s as good as they say it’s going to be we should see people lined up to get them someday soon.
Rounding out the group is the Xbox 720 which, like the rest, has a rumor campaign better than the average political campaign. The release date for this much anticipated game console is Christmas 2013 and analysts say that it will include a 1.6 GHz processor and a HDD. What this means is that it will be able to run games without a disc. Kinect is also rumored to be getting an upgrade this year and should make the (hopefully) Christmas release even better
